These 4 tips are required if you want to build a good quality drawer !!
1. Don't connect the back part of the drawer with a rabbit joint !!
You want to connect the back of a drawer with a dado joint because connecting it with a rabbit means it isn't that strong !! Though there will be less space, it's worth having the back jointed to the sides.
2. Don't be lazy !!
Do NOT build a drawer with butt joinery. Building a drawer with butt joinery is the laziest way to build a drawer ! Instead, take the time to learn some joinery so you could build a quality drawer !!
3. Do not cut the groove to close to the bottom !!
Cut the grove to where the bottom of the groove is no closer than a 3/8 inch to a 1/2 inch to the very bottom part of the drawer !! cutting out the groove to close to the bottom just isn't a great idea
4. Do not try and fit a piece into the groove if it's to tight !!
Trying to get a piece to fit when it doesn't fit well will cause the groove to crack. Instead, just cut the groove 1/32 to 1/16 of an inch to widen the gap some the bottom piece of the drawer could fit !!
